Prevent becoming a Victim of Road Rage
Road Rage is a term used to refer to violent behavior by a driver of an automobile, which thus causes accidents or incidents on roadways. It can be thought of as an extreme case aggressive driving. and aggressive drivers are becoming more and more of a problem nowadays as our road systems get more and more crowed, especially in the summer months. Increased stress in our lives, congested highways, and a feeling of anonymity make road rage a growing problem on our highways today. We see it every day while driving someone cuts you off and because of our time we need to be somewhere else other then on the road we run late and need to get their fast. There is nothing to gain from driving like this. Car accidents happen each and every day. You’re not quite sure why they’re so mad, but mad they are--mad enough that you’re scared they might just stop short and get out of the car what do you do then.
Safety on the Roads
Most of the time aggressive driving is deliberately preventing someone from merging into a lane or cutting you off. If you drive in a big city like NY you will witness this more times then you want to. If you have ever been on the FDR or West side highway it would be rare that you don’t come in contact with Road Rage. Road rage involves physical assault and violence while aggressive drivers are defined as "operating a motor vehicle in a selfish, bold or pushy manner, without regard for the rights or safety of the other users of the streets and highways.
Protect Yourself
* NEVER stop beside the road to confront an angry driver.
* Drivers need to take a deep breath and calm down before things get out of control.
* Drivers should maintain sufficient distance from the vehicles in front of them.
* Allow at least one car distance between cars.
* Avoid abrupt actions while steering, braking, and accelerating.
* First and foremost make every attempt to get out of their way.
* Think that the other driver may have received a call that someone passed away and needs to get somewhere fast. Hey you never know it could happen to you.
* Senior need to drive also so don’t get crazy you will be their one day give them a break it could be your Mother or Father
Avoid Road Rage by just adding a little time to where you need to be. Remember driving is life or death. I am sure you know someone who has been in an accident and it was not their fault. It takes a lifetime to get over the one act that could cost someone else their life all because you were running late for a baseball game.
